Speakers:

Dato’ Dr. Gun Suk Chyn - A senior Consultant Physician and Rheumatologist. She heads the rheumatology unit in Hospital Tuanku Jaafar Seremban. Focusing on the clinical care of patients and involved in teaching and training of all categories of doctors and a medical researcher and examiner of the MRCP(UK) examination. She has a special interest in patient advocacy and a strong believer in patient empowerment and education. She is a founding president of the Negeri Sembilan Arthritis Association (NSAA).

Dr. Ong Tien Kwan - Graduated from University Malaya in 1989, and served in Kuala Lumpur and Sandakan before setting up his own private practice in 1996 in Bandar Sungai Long. He is the founding President of Sungai Long Buddhist Society and Maha Karuna Compassionate Home in Taman Midah which houses the old and the destitute. Dr. Ong emphasizes the benefits of meditation and has written a book called “Meditation: Tool for Transformation”.

Dr. Phang Cheng Kar - A consultant psychiatrist and mindfulness-based therapist at Sunway Medical Centre. He founded MINDFULGym, a Malaysian mindfulness-based stress reduction, and wellness program. To date, he has conducted more than a hundred workshops related to mindfulness. Besides being an avid speaker, he is also a prolific writer. He is now the president of the Malaysia Association for Mindfulness Practice & Research (MMPR) & KL Buddhist Mental Health Association (BMHA).

Sis. Low Mi Yen - A clinical psychologist who pioneered the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) in Malaysia working with individuals, families, workplaces, and communities for over 25 years since 1999. A professional member of the Malaysian Society of Clinical Psychology and Employee Assistance Professionals Association; a board member of Asia Pacific Employee Assistance Roundtable and Vice-President of Malaysia Association for Mindfulness Practice and Research.
