Theravada Buddhist Council of Malaysia (TBCM) Member Organisations Lend Assistance to Philippines Typhoon Haiyan Victims
in a cheque presentation ceremony on 18th January 2014 at Taiwan Buddhist Tzu-Chi Foundation Malaysia (KL & Selangor Branch), SS25/2, Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
Present were Venerable B. Saranankara Mahāthero, Abbot of Sri Lanka Buddhist Temple, Kuala Lumpur and a member of TBCM's Monastic Advisory Panel, venerable bhikshuni (nun) Ven. Neishu from Kegon Japanese School in Tōdaiji, Japan, TBCM Chairman Bro. Chim Siew Choon, TBCM Hon. Secretary Bro. Ānanda Fong, Subang Jaya Buddhist Association (SJBA) Hon. Secretary Bro. James Khoo, members of Yayasan Maha Karuna, Deputy CEO, Taiwan Buddhist Tzu-Chi Foundation Malaysia (KL & Selangor Branch) Bro. Song Quek Khian , and Admin. Officer Bro. Danny Lee Mun Keat .
Deputy CEO, Taiwan Buddhist Tzu-Chi Foundation Malaysia (KL & Selangor Branch) Bro. Song Quek Khian , and Admin. Officer Bro. Danny Lee Mun Keat gave the visiting team a video presentation of the Tzu Chi relief efforts in the worst hit cities of Tacloban and Ormoc in Leyte province and Guiua island in Samar province of the Philippines.
