สมเด็จพระญาณสังวร สมเด็จพระสังฆราช His Holiness the Supreme Patriarch of Thailand Somdet Phra Nyanasamvara passed away at 100.

It is with profound respects that we announce the passing away of His Holiness the Supreme Patriarch of Thailand on Thursday, 24 October 2013.

His Holiness had just celebrated his 100th birthday on 3 October this year. However, he has been in poor health for more than a decade.

After a recent medical procedure at Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital in Bangkok, his condition deteriorated rapidly, and his long, fruitful lifespan finally came to an end at 7:30 p.m..

Theravada Buddhist Council of Malaysia stands in solidarity with our Thai brothers and sisters in paying tribute to a great monk, scholar, and teacher. May the late Somdet Phra Sangharaja experience the highest bliss of peace, Nibbāna.
