Wesak Message Buddhavasse 2557 Sukho buddhānaṃ uppādoblessed is the spiritual pursuit of the truth seekersukhā saddhammadesanāSukhā saṅghassa sāmaggisamaggānaṃ tapo sukho.Blessed is the birth of the Buddhas;Blessed is the enunciation of the sacred Teaching;Blessed is the harmony in the Order, andBlessed is the spiritual pursuit of the united truth-seeker.- Dhammapada 194

Wesak day commemorates the Birth, Enlightenment and the Mahāparinibbāna of Gotama the Buddha.

The day is best observed with gratitude and respect for the Buddha. It was the Buddha who rediscovered the Path to Deathlessness and then sharing the Deathless message with all who cared to listen and thread the path.

The Buddha had advised that the best homage to him was to mindfully practice what he had taught.

Sabbapāpassa akaraṇaṃcleanse ones mind dhammapada 183kusalassa upasampadāSacittapariyodapanaṃetaṃ buddhāna sāsanaṃ.To avoid all evil,to cultivate good, andto cleanse one's mind— this is the teaching of the Buddhas.- Dhammapada 183

Theravada Buddhist Council of Malaysia (TBCM) with advice from its newly established Monastic Advisory Panel, comprising Ven. Aggacitta Mahāthera, Ven. Dhammavuddho Mahāthera and Ven. Saranankara Mahāthera, began working on the various issues that have come to its attention which resulted in several statements and articles being disseminated via email to members and postings on its Web site www.tbcm.org.my and Facebook pages www.facebook.com/tbcm.org.my . We recommend member organisations to encourage its members and devotees to join the TBCM network in order to receive regular updates.

TBCM has early this year embarked on a ‘Fly the Buddhist Flag’ campaign and encourages member organisations to share the Significance of the Buddhist Flag (http://www.nalanda.org.my/the-international-buddhist-flag/ ) with its members and devotees and have available Buddhist Flags for sale at their centres.
