WESAK 2014 MESSAGE FROM TBCM EXCO
Dear TBCM Members,Namo BuddhayaWESAK MESSAGE FROM TBCM EXCOThis year’s Wesak Day falls on 13th May 2014. Wesak Day is a thrice sacred day for the millions of Buddhists all over the world because on this Full Moon Day of May in 623BC, the Sakyamuni Buddha was born in his last rebirth as Prince Siddhartha Gotama, and 35 years later, He attained Full Enlightenment and became the Buddha also on Full Moon Day of May, and finally the Buddha attained Parinibbana also on the Full Moon Day, ie. Wesak Day.On this auspicious day, Buddhists go to the Vihara or Dhamma Centres to reaffirm their faith in the Triple Gem, taking refuge in the Buddha, the Dhamma and the Sangha and reflect on how to live a good, happy, meaningful and purposeful life in this imperfect world until we attain Nibbana.Wesak Day is an auspicious day to do good, abstain from evil and cultivate ourselves mentally and spiritually. On this day, it is good for us to reflect on our duty to bring about a better world for the good, welfare and happiness of the many in the world. Let us together spread the Buddha’s message of love, compassion and wisdom to make our community, our country and our world a better one for all of us, where we are at peace and harmony with other beings, with nature and with ourselves.Let this Wesak also strengthen our resolve to serve the Triple Gem and work together towards the propagation and prolongation of the Buddha Sasana. TBCM looks forward to synergistic effort from its member organisations in sharing resources, experience and competencies in Dhamma Propagation and Education, Leadership training, etc. To build up the synergy and teamwork amongst our member organisations, TBCM Exco is planning to visit TBCM’s member organisations in the next few months. We hope that such visit will generate better mutual understanding and build a strong bond with our member organizations that lead to good teamwork as we work together to propagate the BuddhaDhamma and promotion of the Buddhist Way of Life.TBCM will start a series of leadership training program for the current and potential leaders of our member organizations in the next few months. Education and training is our focus to build people, talents and leadership skills. Through such programs, we hope to bring current and future Buddhist leaders together and build the bond to work together for a better tomorrow for Buddhism in Malaysia. We look forward to the participation from the leaders of your societies.May the Blessings of the Triple Gem be with you.May you be well and happy!Happy Wesak Day!Sadhu! Sadhu! Sadhu! With Metta,TBCM Exco
