VENERABLE E. INDARATANA Maha Thero (1954 – 2020)

TBCM offers our Deepest Condolences to the members of the Maha Sangha,  to the family of the late Venerable, and devotees of Mahindarama Buddhist Temple.

The late Ven. Indaratana was the 6th Chief Monk of Mahindarama Buddhist Temple, Penang from 1995 - 2020. During his time as the Chief incumbent, the temple started various important initiatives to serve the devotees and also members of the public. The most well known initiative by Ven. Indaratana was the Amata Free Medical and Diabetic Centre established in 1996.

Ven. Indaratana worked closely with the temple's management committee and during the last 25 years of close cooperation and understanding between him and the management committee, the temple started many new developments including the recently opened Mahindarama Meditation Centre.... '

Venerable had been a example of Dhamma Leadership with his Dhammaduta work in Penang and Malaysia. May his legacy of compassionate Dhamma Outreach be remembered and continued by people whom he has made a difference.

May the late Venerable attain a favourable rebirth and attain the Bliss of Liberation.
